The digital audio technology leader Frontier Smart Technologies has announced that its M6 and Magic X services will be transferred to airable in December, and the internet radio portal, MediaU, will be shut down by 15th December 2024. This change will affect some functions of SANGEAN WFR-32 and WFR-39 internet radios.
Since the MediaU server used by SANGEAN WFR-32 and WFR-39 internet radios will not support weather and MediaU server related services after being transferred to airable, the WFR-32 and WFR-39 will not display weather information in standby mode in the future. In addition, due to the shutdown of the MediaU server, users of the WFR-32 and WFR-39 will not be able to create a custom station list and play these stations. However, internet radio and podcast services will continue to be provided by airable.

We have signed a cooperation agreement with airable, where they will continue to provide SANGEAN product users with the latest and most reliable internet radio and podcast services. * Please note that starting from December 10, 2024, users of the WFR-32 and WFR-39 models can update the software using a wireless network connection to access the latest software services. After the update is complete, please turn off the radio, remove the power source, and then plug it in again to complete the update steps. Please note that do not turn off or remove the power source during the update process to avoid update failure or other damage.
【Service Notice】Weather Service Discontinuation (Updated: March 2026)
Due to adjustments made by our service partner, the weather service used on the WFR-32 and WFR-39 Internet radios will be discontinued from 1 March 2026.
Affected Models:
• WFR-32
• WFR-39
Notes:
• Your device will automatically stop showing the weather service after the service is discontinued.
• If weather information or random characters continue to appear on the screen, please manually deactivate weather in the settings menu.
• Core features such as Internet Radio will remain fully operational.
